On reaching his seat on a plane trip, a man is surprised to see a parrot strapped in next to him.

After the plane reaches altitude, the man decides he wants something to drink.

He asks the stewardess for a coffee, whereupon the parrot squawks, 'And get me a coke, you fat cow!'

The stewardess, flustered, brings back a coke for the parrot and forgets the coffee.

Figuring it was just an oversight, the man says, "Excuse me, Miss.  I don't mean to be rude, but you forgot my coffee.  Would you mind bringing me that cup I ordered?" 

The parrot, who quickly drains his glass, chimes in: 'And get me another coke, you ugly dogface!'

Quite upset, the stewardess comes back shaking with another coke but still no coffee.

Unaccustomed to such slackness, the man tries the parrot's approach. 'Listen lady, I've asked you twice for a coffee!  Now go and bring it to me now, you smelly old heifer!'

The next moment, both he and the parrot have been yanked up and thrown out of the emergency exit by two burly stewards.

Plummeting downwards towards the earth at terminal velocity, the parrot turns to him and says, 'For someone who can't fly, you've got guts!'

In a bid to outsmart their endlessly curious five year old daughter, a husband and wife devised a secret code for initiating intimacy. One evening, surrounded by the familiar clutter of their living room, they brainstormed.

"How about typewriter?" the wife suggested, nodding toward the vintage Royal gathering dust in the corner. "It's old-fashioned, specific, and she'd never guess."

"Perfect," the husband agreed.

A few nights later, feeling a spark, the husband found his daughter building a block tower near the stairs.

"Sweetie," he said, "can you be a messenger? Go tell Mommy that Daddy needs to type a letter."

She scampered off. In the kitchen, the wife tired from her day stifled a laugh. Leaning down, she whispered,

"Go tell Daddy he can't type right now. The typewriter has a red ribbon in it."

The message was delivered. The husband sighed in resignation.

Several days later, the mood struck the wife. She found her daughter playing with dolls in the hallway.

"Honey," she murmured, "go tell Daddy the typewriter is free now. He can type that letter whenever he's ready."

The little girl ran to the living room and returned a moment later, her face puzzled.

"Well?" the mother asked.

The girl shrugged. "Daddy said, ‘Never mind the typewriter. Tell Mommy I already wrote the letter by hand.’"

A New Way to Reveal a Card

Earlier this year, Craig Petty blessed the world with The Big Blind. This is a card reveal that only Craig could have come up with. 

One spectator freely chooses any card, let's say the 2 of Spades. You bet them that you can guess their thought-of card, and you're wagering three poker chips. With each chip, you attempt to guess a different facet of their card: value, color, and suit. Each time placing a chip in their hands. 

What's really magical is it doesn't matter if your guesses are correct, because you can prove that you knew the card they would choose from the beginning. You flip over the chips that they have been holding this whole time. On the backs are "2", "of", "Spades."

With news crews following him around as they tour the place, he asks the chief if there was anything the people need.

"Well," says the chief, "We have three very important needs. First, we have a medical clinic, but no doctor."

The politician whips out his phone, dials a number, talks to somebody for two minutes and then hangs up. "I've pulled some strings. Your doctor will arrive in a few days. Now what was the second problem?"

"We have no way to get clean water. The local mining operation has poisoned the water our people been drinking for thousands of years. We've been flying bottled water in, and it's terribly expensive."

Once again, the politician dials a number, yells into the phone for a few minutes, and then hangs up. "The mine has been shut down, and the owner is being billed for setting up a purification plant for your people. Now what was that third problem?"

"We have no cellphone reception up here," the chief says.

Can you believe it's been 3 years since Javier Natera's Fool Us performance debuted? His routine, playing with the theme of coincidence, was equal parts controlled and manic. We watched in awe as he threaded that impossible balance with one thought on our minds: I can't wait to perform that.

You then instruct your spectator to bring their packet under the table again and select a new card, while you square your cards and leave them on the table. 

Once again, your spectator spreads the cards, revealing the 4 of hearts face up.

Now, without having ever touched your cards, you spread them again to reveal suddenly the 4 of diamonds is face up! 

Whether you want to portray this as a genuine miracle or an impressive feat of persuasion is up to you, but either way, you'll have

Today, I want to introduce you a on one of magic's oldest effects: The Color Spot Monte.

Color Spot Monte is one of the best takes on this classic routine. You start with three cards. Two have a large blue spot, and one has a large red spot in the center. Your spectator just has to follow the red card. If they do, they get a big cash prize.  

You place all three in your hand face down and your spectator guesses top, middle or bottom. No matter where they pick, they have chosen a blue card. In fact, you show that all three cards are blue! 

Giving them a chance for redemption, you ask them to follow the blue card. But this time, all three cards turn red.

You give them one last chance to win some money. You flip over the red card, flip over a blue card, and you leave the third card for them to guess the color of. Whether they say red or blue, they're wrong because the remaining card has a picture of a big bag of money!

You pause in that moment, letting the impossibility hang in the air. Remarkably, the coin is affixed to the end of the pen. You can't shake it off if you try. Hand it out for inspection, and your spectators will see there is no removing the coin. 

For the finale, you rip the coin off of the pen, and magically restore it. The massive hole is fixed.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PLAY TESTERS

Do you like to play any free online games or apps?

We have been working on our own online multiplayer game, and it's been keeping us busy for the past couple of months.

It revolves around magic and magicians, so it's designed with YOU in mind.  As with any role playing game, you are on a journey to level up your character while interacting and competing against others players to be the best.

It's a LONG way from being finished, but it's currently playable as we make improvements and iron things out.

If you want to participate and play the game (for fun), then let us know!

We are looking for people who want to play it and report any bugs, feature requests, suggestions, or feedback, etc.

The only requirement: we ask that you be an existing customer of ours with at least three prior orders. Why?  Because we currently want to interact with people that support us and have a prior history with (during this play testing phase).

So if you enjoy playing online games and want to be added to the play tester list, contact me and let me know.  I only have a couple of testing spots available right now, and all others will be put on the wait list (in the order we receive them) to be given access at a later date.
