Turns out his next project was perfecting the oil and water plot. Remixed, his take on the classic effect is clean, easy, and breathtaking. It requires only six cards and has no finnicky gimmicks to work with.
And yet, with those six cards, you can perform miracles.

Six cards (three red and three black) are shuffled in alternating order: red, black, red, black, red, black. But when they're flipped over, the reds and blacks have separated just like oil and water!
You can even turn this into a multi-phase routine, with the final revelation happening in the spectator's hands!
