You and a spectator each take and shuffle 26 cards. You instruct them to flip 1 over and insert it into the middle of the deck, and you write down a single number. But that is not the actual coincidence. Flipping through the rest of the deck, you see that the top cards in each pile are also pairs. And the second. And third, fourth fifth, all the way down!
