It doesn't get more straightforward than this.  Even a beginner can do it!

You have your spectator THINK of ANY NUMBER between 1 and 52.

You then show them the cards and have them THINK of any card (free selection).   They don't even tell the card to you.

You shuffle the deck, and then ask them to name the number only.   Let's say they say '18'.    You deal down 18 cards into the deck.   You then, for the first time, ask them to name their card and you will SPELL the name.  

As you deal down, their THOUGHT OF CARD will be at the exact same position in the deck!   Works every time!
